Taapsee Pannu takes inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan's character from 'Pink' for 'Mulk'


Taapsee Pannu has beautifully and strikingly created her on screen portrayals for the audience and the critics in each and every film. Her effortless screen presence and balanced performance is a proof that she is here to stay for a prolonged period. After impressing her fans down south, Taapsee has created a humungous fan base in the Hindi film industry as well.

She will be next seen in ‘Mulk’ alongside Rishi Kapoor, where she will be essaying the role of a lawyer, seeking justice for a client she believes is being framed owing to his religion. While speaking to a daily about taking inspiration for her role she revealed how Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of a stern and convincing lawyer in ‘Pink’ was the best point of reference for her.



She further said that since she worked with him in ‘Pink’, she learnt how he executed the role with finesse. Though the situation that he character in ‘Mulk’ is different than Amitabh Bachchan’s in ‘Pink’, she revealed how she has picked out nuances from watching him which help her ace the role in her upcoming film.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha and shot extensively in Benaras and Lucknow, ‘Mulk’ is the story of a Muslim family trying to reclaim its lost honour and is scheduled to have its theatrical release on August 3rd, 2018.
