‘Batti
Gul Meter Chalu’, starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is all set
to release on 14 September 2018. The film that was long delayed finally
got its release date on Monday. The film was initially slated to
release during Janmasthami on 31 August 2018, but the makers seem to had
postponed it due to numerous delays during the shoot.
The team only recently wrapped up shooting for the social drama with a song sequence shot in Mumbai. A major portion of the film was shot in Tehri, Uttarakhand and is reportedly based on the struggles of a man against the power distribution companies over exorbitant electricity bills.
The film will see Shahid reunite with Shraddha after starring together in the critically acclaimed ‘Haider’. All eyes will now be on the box office to see if the hunk can work his magic once again after the phenomenal success of ‘Padmaavat’. There is also a lot riding on the shoulders of director Sigh, who earned worldwide appreciation for his work on the film ‘ Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar.
