Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Salute' to surprise you with a Christmas 2019 release?


Shah Rukh Khan recently wrapped up shooting for Aanand L. Rai’s upcoming film ‘Zero’. And as per reports, it is believed that Shah Rukh is likely to begin shooting as the lead in a film titled ‘Salute’. The film is based on the life of astronaut Rakesh Sharma.

Reportedly, the ‘Dilwale’ actor has lately been involved in multiple brainstorming sessions in regards to the film’s VFX.



A daily even quoted a source that Shah Rukh Khan is very impressed with the script of the film and is excited to start shooting for ‘Salute’. The source further added that the movie will go on floors in September/October this year, and the shooting will go on till March/April. Since the film is high on VFX, the post production would take longer than usual.

Further the source revealed that Salman Khan’s ‘Kick 2’ was initially announced as a Christmas 2019 release, however there are talks in the trade that the film might be put on the backburner for the time being as there is no script in place.



Therefore, as reported, the team of ‘Salute’ as of now is contemplating on Christmas 2019 slot for the film release.

Speaking about the film’s official announcement, the source revealed that the film will be officially announced once Shah Rukh Khan signs the dotted lines and commits the dates for shooting the film which is expected to be by August end.

Mahesh Mathai’s ‘Salute’ will be jointly produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Sidharth Roy Kapur.
