After garnering applause for essaying the role of writer-poet Saadat
Hasan Manto in Nandita Das’ ‘Manto’, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently
shooting for ‘Thackeray’. The film is a biopic based on the life Shiv
Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s new picture has been doing rounds on the internet. In the picture, he is wrapped in a saffron shawl and wearing Thackeray’s thick full-rimmed glasses, Nawaz resembles Thackeray to perfection.
Directed by Abhijit Panse, the ‘Thackeray’ biopic will be shot in Hindi and Marathi and later dubbed in English. The film is slated to release on January 23, 2019.
In a recent interview with a daily, Nawazuddin Siddiqui reportedly professed that after playing Balasaheb Thackeray, he is filled with so much courage that he is not even scared of his wife. He even jokingly added that when he reaches home, he even snaps his fingers and asks her to move aside.
On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has few more interesting projects lined up including ‘Genius’, ‘Ghoomketu’ and ‘Shoebite’. He will also be seen in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with director Karthik Subbaraj.
