Sushant Singh Rajput’s interests
beyond acting have been no secret. The actor has been quite vocal about
his inclination towards reading, astronomy and more. And that’s exactly
why the fact that the ‘Raabta’ actor has bought a land on the moon
shouldn’t come as a surprise. Sushant reportedly confirmed the same in
an interview. He claimed that the piece of land that he has acquired is
situated on the far side of the moon, in a region called the Mare
Muscoviense, or the “Sea of Muscovy".
Earlier speaking
about the same, he told an agency that he would like to believe that the
different ways people answer questions ‘are’ the answers to those
questions. He further said that so the variations in the way they
punctuate the narratives; the nuance, would create the different
versions of reality in future. He added that his mother used to tell him
that his life will be the story that he will tell himself. And so he is
just punctuating a nuance right now and already is, over the Moon.
The actor has bought the property from the International Lunar Lands
Registry. Sushant is certainly the first Bollywood actor to actually own
a land on the moon. Before this, Shah Rukh Khan was the only one to own
a lunar land. However, the actor didn’t buy rather it was offered to
him as a present by a fan.
As reported, Sushant got
the property registered on June 25, 2018. But it is also interesting to
note that it may not amount to a legal ownership, as an international
treaty states that, "Outer space, including the Moon and other celestial
bodies, are the common heritage of mankind and cannot be owned by any
nation."
